Inside Mariah Carey’s beautiful rose-covered mansion, there’s huge theater

Georgia’s Southern Hospitality? Mariah Carey’s Atlanta-area mansion is back on the market after less than a year, seeking $6.5 mιllιon, $850,000 more than she paid for it in an off-market deal in December 2021.

The “Queen of Christmas” briefly lived in the Colonial-style mansion but now wants to return to New York, according to the Wall Street Journal, which also said that a July burglary did not influence her decision to sell.

In the early 1990s, architect Stephen Fuller constructed the house on a gated hilltop plot of approximately 4 acres in Sandy Springs, Georgia, just minutes from downtown Atlanta. The red brick and columned structure has nine bedrooms and 13 baths in over 12,500 square feet of living area with exquisite crown molding and millwork, vaulted ceilings, and arched doors.

Previously leased by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the “All I Want for Christmas is You” singer customized the home with a pink dressing room and recording booth. An elegant living room with a fireplace and French doors to the backyard, formal dining room, wood-paneled library, and sleek gourmet kitchen with a large eat-in island, Bosch, Sub-Zero, and ZLINE appliances, and a sunny breakfast nook are also highlights.

The upstairs master retreat has a fireplace surrounded by built-in shelving, private terrace, morning bar, walk-in closet, dressing room with makeup mirror and salon chair, and luxurious bath with twin vanities and a relaxing soaking tub.

The garden-laced grounds include a heated pool, entertainment pavilion with built-in BBQ, tennis court, and three-car garage. A wide daylight terrace level has a movie theater, mirrored gym, and fireside sitting room that connects to an outdoor entertaining/play area.

Huntington, N.Y.-born Carey is 53. She has a triplex apartment in lower Manhattan and a 3-acre beachfront home on Windermere Island in the Bahamas.
