Justin Bieber’s all-steel ‘Salad Spinner’ house in Beverly Hills becomes famous as people compare it to the Avengers

Salad rotator. A pile of CDs. The Television Centre of BBC. All of these phrases have been used on Twitter to characterise 1169 Loma Linda Drive in Los Angeles. Its distinctive architecture might have gone unnoticed if it had not been the former residence of Justin Bieber.

Ed Niles designed the mansion, which was completed in 2009. Its large, modernist aesthetic is one of many in the renowned architect’s oeuvre, including an industrial California beach house that was on the market for $53 million but is no longer available and an enormous glass house in Malibu that sold in January for $4.2 million.

This is not the only Los Angeles home that has been mocked for its architecture: Pharrell Williams recently listed his large, gleaming Beverly Hills home for $17 million, which also received considerable social media criticism. Keyboard-brave critics compared it to a workplace or a college campus.

The residence on Loma Linda Drive has six bedrooms, six and one-half bathrooms, 7,500 square feet of living space, a lift, an infinity pool and a six-car garage. Interestingly, commenters’ issues with the design turned out to be the same as Bieber’s. According to Highsnobiety, the pop star left after only two months due to the undesirable transparency the glass facade provided for paparazzi. It was previously on the market for just under $15 million, but it is not presently listed on the MLS. We cannot help but believe that an uninformed assistant rented it to Bieber based on its square footage, Beverly Hills location, and spectacular vistas.

This is not the first time the home has encountered Internet fame. It was also the primary location for the 2017-uploaded “It’s Everyday Bro” music video by prominent YouTuber Jake Paul, which has garnered over 250 million views.

However, where, oh where does Bieber currently reside? The singer now owns two significantly less extravagant properties: a $5 million estate in Ontario, Canada, and a $8.5 million home in Beverly Hills. While Bieber purchased the latter in March of last year, he’s already contemplating selling it, as he wrote on Instagram in October, “I wanna sell it I think anyone is interested?” No word yet on whether anyone has accepted his offer.
