Drake looked for an L.A. home for longer than he actually lived there. The rapper has relisted the Beverly Crest mega-mansion with an even higher asking price of $88 M, a year after spending $75 M on it.
The hip-hop star spent more than a year searching the Southern California real estate market for the ideal estate, so this move is ᴜnеᶍpecтed. He ultimately chose the residence of musician Robbie Williams, and the $75 M he spent was more than twice what Williams had paid for it in 2015—just $32.67 M.
If Drake gets his price, it will be the most expensive home sale in Southern California so far this year and a boost for L.A.’s sluggish luxury real estate market. Since Measure ULA went into effect in April, which brought a hefty transfer tax to L.A. property sales above $5 M, the market has slowed significantly.
